Help Customers Find Your Business on Facebook

At The Edge of Liberty, we love showing off our vendors! We feature participating businesses in craft fair announcements, vendor shout-outs, and social media posts.

Having a Facebook business Page makes it easier for us to tag your business so shoppers can find you, follow you, and contact you for orders, even after craft fair season ends.

Creating a Facebook Page is free, and you don't need your own website.

How to create your Facebook business Page

A business Page is different from a personal profile or Facebook group. You manage it through your personal Facebook account, but the business Page represents your business publicly.

  1. Sign in to your personal Facebook account.
  2. Visit Facebook's Create a Page screen.
  3. Enter your business name, ideally matching the name you use for our craft fairs.
  4. Select a category that describes what you sell.
  5. Add a short description using words customers would actually search for.
  6. Add a recognizable profile picture and photos of your products.
  7. Add contact information and a way for customers to message you or place orders.
  8. Finish setup and make sure your Page is publicly visible.

Facebook's screens may change. For a walkthrough from Meta, see Meta's official tutorial: How to create a Facebook Page.

Make your Page easier to find

  • Use a consistent business name.
  • Describe your products specifically, rather than using vague phrases.
  • Include Valparaiso, Northwest Indiana, or your actual service area where relevant.
  • Upload clear, current product photos.
  • Make it easy for customers to inquire about custom orders and off-season purchases.
  • Keep your contact information up to date.

Instead of: “I make cute stuff!”

Try: “Handmade crochet plushies, amigurumi animals, and custom gifts in Northwest Indiana.”

Help us tag your business

Once your Facebook Page is ready, copy its URL and email it to craft-fairs@edgeofliberty.us. Include your registered business name so we can match the Page to your vendor listing.

Facebook tagging is not guaranteed in every post, but having a public business Page gives us a better way to connect shoppers with your business.

Don't forget your Edge of Liberty vendor page!

Your profile on edgeofliberty.us can also help customers discover you through Google. Find your existing page in our vendor listings and check for:

  • Accurate business and product descriptions
  • Search-friendly wording
  • Current product photographs
  • Facebook, website, or other contact links
  • A way for customers to order during the off-season

Email corrections and updates to craft-fairs@edgeofliberty.us, along with your registered business name.

Our goal is simple: help customers find your business, not just on craft fair Sundays, but all year long!
